Pressure washing a roof takes years off it
A pressure washer strips the protective granules off asphalt shingles, and once those are gone they do not come back. So we do not use one on a roof, ever. Roofs get soft washed with a cleaning solution applied at low pressure, left to work, then rinsed. It kills the algae at the root rather than scouring it off, and it leaves the shingle surface exactly as it was.
